The Wall of Sound Returns! Season 5 Premiere Halloween Night at Midnight!

Hey now Sacramento (and world wide webbers), the mighty mighty Wall of Sound radio show is back!

After guesting several times on The Young Turk‘s show The Dead Set in late 1999, I, as “The Postman”, delivered over 200 hours of The Wall of Sound from February 2000 through December 2002.

With 97 regular episodes and nine Super Specials, I put the show on hiatus… which turned out to be muuuuuuuuch longer than I had wanted (in truth, I didn’t want to end the show back in ’02, but various reasons forced it, then various other unrelated circumstances prevented me from returning… until now).

But, the love of music and ability to share it continued and year after year, I would create additional possible return seasons – this time with fewer episodes (Season 2, 2000-01 had 36 episodes and Season 3, 2001-02 had 34 episodes!)… I’ll now be doing only 13 regular episodes and a variable number of specials per season (hey, I’ve got movies, animated series and comics that I want to do too, so cutting back from a zillion eps a year is totally sensable!)

So, here it comes: The Wall of Sound continues with a brand new Season 5 premiere/series return episode, “High Five Halloween”, which will air at Midnight on Halloween (Saturday, October 31, 2015).

Recording it came at last moment, but I got it done… hadda relearn how to use the recording system, etc., so parts of it aren’t the near-perfection I was going for, but it should be okay (there are bits that didn’t come off quite as well as I would have liked, but that happens sometimes… Time was tight and I was returning after a loooooong thirteen-year absence, but I was happy with big chunks of it.

After this special Midnight Halloween episode, The Wall of Sound will move to Friday nights at 8pm to 10pm Pacific time. Check it out (if in Sacramento) on KUBU 96.5 FM and anywhere on the planet Earth via the wuba wuba web at www.live365.com/stations/accesssacramento.

Come on, SNL‘s a rerun this Saturday, so come on over an’ check us out! Rock out on some sweet Halloween jams through the early hours of All Saints’ Day / Day of the Dead.

Here’s a preview of who’s joining us (a mix of local SacTown-related bands and others from elsewhere): The Grateful Dead (‘natch!), Grub Dog, Doctor Who (Dominic Glynn), Forever Knight (Fred Mollin, Nigel Bennett), The Tea Party (the Canadian rock band!), Rob Zombie, ZZ Top, Bauhaus, The Groovie Ghoulies, Warren Zevon, Ozzy Osbourne, Elvira, Kiss, Oingo Boingo, Vincent Price, “The Thriller”, Third Eye Blind, “Weird Al” Yankovic, The Flys, The Eagles, The Moving Sidewalks (featuring a pre-ZZ Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill), Donovan, Alice Cooper, Merl Sanders, Ferris Bueller, Scooby-Doo and Wolfman Jack!
