Film credits, yo!

I’ve always loved movies… I have worked on a few and even made a short film in 2009…

To get to know more about me, let’s look at my small group of film credits so far:

2003The Dark Forest – A digital feature film directed by T.J. Goffin.

A year after I worked on the feature film The Assassination of Richard Nixon (which was released in 2004), I worked as a multitasked production assistant (P.A.) for the main shoot up in the snow of El Dorado County: I was a location sound recordist, boom mic operator, DAT recordist, location/set still photographer. I got food poisoning (from some cookies that I had before arriving one day – later, I found that the bag had a hole in it and they must have become stale or something! *meh*) and had to leave the shoot after a few days, but quickly recovered by the time I returned home down the mountain. Months later, I returned to help my friend Johnny Bilson with additional scenes recorded in the Bay Area as a special effects make-up assistant (for the insert scenes of the Montrassa) and documentary videographer.

2004The Assassination of Richard Nixon – Directed by Niels Meuller. Starring Sean Penn, Naomi Watts and Don Cheadle. Based upon a true story.

This was actually the first film that I worked on (though it was released the year after I worked on The Dark Forest). I worked on the Sacramento Airport scenes as a production assistant (acquiring safety cones and “sandwich boards” and costume and guard of said costume room for use on set during Fall 2002.

2005Memoirs of a Geisha – Directed by Rob Marshall. Adapted from the 1997 book by Arthur Golden. Produced by Steven Spielberg. Starring Ziyi Zhang, Ken Watanabe and Michelle Yeoh. I P.A.ed mostly as a wardrobe grip during the Sacramento-shot scenes (train station and clothes washing by the river).

2009The Undoing -Directed by (co-writer/executive producer/actor/scripter Dennis Post (with uncredited additional direction by star/co-writer/musician/composer/executive producer Trevor R. Todd and director of photography/actor/2009 cut editor Mike Bustillos).

A 34 minute short film that was intended to be the first of a trilogy. Developed and produced in about two months time, with no budget and an all volunteer cast and crew.

Starring Trevor R. Todd, Holly Stewart, Ryann Fuentes, Matt Mitchell, Greg Halldorson, Steve Wiedel, Donald Stauffer, Michael Driscoll, Connie Driscoll, James Drikas, Dennis Post, Mike Bustillos, Cory Pozo, Alex Farris and Skylar Noble.

Being a rock & roll fantasy/parable, The Undoing featured Sacramento-based Trevor R. Todd‘s then rock & roll band Seven Foot Fetish (so called, as he’s 6 foot 10!).

The Undoing premiered to a packed house at The Crest Theatre in Sacramento, California on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. A new 2010 DVD cut was edited by David Perkins.

Our short film, The Undoing, is not to be confused with the unrelated 8-minute short drama The Undoing (also released in 2009) or the equally unrelated later 2014 short thriller The Undoing or the feature film crime/drama/thriller Undoing (2006) or the in-development 2015 feature film thriller The Undoing (to be directed by James D.R. Hickox).

More on The Undoing later, this October… on its sixth anniversary…

I might also be slightly visible in the audience (looking very Silent Bob-ish and wearing a backwards Skywalker Ranch hat no less!) during the Warp 11 (a sweet Star Trek tribute rock band from Sacramento) performance in the dreaded docu/mocku-mentary sequel Trekkies 2 (2004).

I’ve also worked on a few TV and video projects in the past as well as a certain radio show that would eventually give rise to a certain feature film called… RADIO FREE sacramento… (see how it all ties together?)

What? What’s that? You want more credits outta me? Okay, OK… I also had been a minor journalist during the ’80s and ’90s… One such published article was a 1999 newspaper interview with Majel Roddenberry of Star Trek fame… In the last few decades, I’ve also met other notable actors, musicians, film directors, comic book creators and others… I’ll get to all of that and more in the months to come! Stay tuned!
